Antique Christmas Featuring the early years 1880s - 1940s

Lot of 12, 1937 box of glass Christmas ornaments. This nice multi-cored set of 12 ornaments are in the original box. Includes hand written note by the owner that purchased them the first year she was married 1937, she writes that these were the only ornaments they could afford. Most are a oval to round shape with a pointed bottom. They all have wonderful hand painted details such as stripes, bursts, etc. and have colors of pink (may have been red which is now faded), gold, white, and blue. Ornaments have some aging with some wear and fading to the finish, but are otherwise solid with no cracks or chips and all have the hangers at the top.

Vintage early 1940s Doubl-Glo colored tin tree topper in the original packaging. Blue on silver aluminum. 7 1/2" across and 7 1/2" tall. Has a spot to insert your own vintage light bulb to light it up!

This beautiful angel is really rare, in this condition - with no missing pieces, breaks or damage, other than time related. She is hand-made from wax, with hand painted features. She is dressed in a little lace skirt and has spun glass wings and a mohair wig. She even has a metal hook embedded in her back so she can hang from your tree. She has a silk red sash over her shoulder to attach to her skirt with a small pin. She has some soil and discoloration on her skin and face. She measures 4 1/4" long, and is in really lovely condition. This little angel was made in Germany, although she isn't marked. She was sold in specialty catalogs, such as through Louis Lange, a publisher of German books in Chicago. They put out a Christmas catalog that showed all kinds of wonderful toys and ornaments.
