The June 25 Americana sale will take place just a few days before the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence—the nation's semiquincentennial. It will feature the 1789 first edition of the Journal of the First Session of the Senate of the United States of America, which includes a confirmation of George Washington's election, his first address to Congress, and an early printing of the Bill of Rights.
