The Right Rev. Robert Spears Jr. served as the episcopal Bishop of Rochester. He fought for the ordination of women and the rights of prisioners. His wife Charlotte Luttrell Spears, served overseas in England, France, Germany and Iceland with the American Red Cross in WWII. Her mother was a professional illustrator for Ladies Home Journal and her father was president of the U.S. offices of Lloyds of London.
