Bob Guccione Graphite Sketch on Paper Crucifixion: A graphite sketch on paper of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ by listed American artist Bob Guccione (1930-2010). Depicted is Jesus Christ upon the cross in the despair of his final moments. The sketch features a three-quarters view of Christ’s body and while there is no cross present, a nail pierces through his hand to signify the gesture. Inscribed to the verso is a notation that reads, “Portrait 7.” The work remains unmounted and unframed. The item included in this lot comes from The Guccione Collection, sold exclusively through EBTH by digital media company Jerrick. The item originates from the personal archives of Bob Guccione; media mogul, artist, and founder of Penthouse Magazine.

Each print features inscriptions in the lower margins denoting the title.

This collection includes reproduction by Keating of an original painting by Francis Wheatley (1747-1801) titled_Preparing for Market_. The print depicts a family loading a horse-drawn cart with vegetables for market and was published by B.B. Evans. Also included is a print by M.A. Oates of an original painting by George Morland (1763 – 1804) titled The Cottagers. The print depicts a family enjoying a relaxing time in a landscape with their dogs and was published by Henry Graves & Co.

Albert Pels Oil Painting on Unstretched Canvas "Violence in the Streets": An oil painting on unstretched canvas titled Violence in the streets by well-listed American genre painter and muralist Albert Pels (Cincinnati/New York; 1910 – 1998), created circa 1970-80. This painting depicts a somber street scene in which a dark urban space is occupied by a sorrowful crowd of working-class Americans under attack. Violent ambiance is portrayed with two bleeding bodies, guns, and observing children. The composition is rendered in a muted palette with intermittent bursts of red. This work is signed in brown near to the lower right corner of the composition. Unframed.

Emily B. Waite Conté Crayon Drawing on Paper of a Rabbit: A Conté crayon drawing on paper of a rabbit by well-listed Massachusetts artist Emily B. Waite (1887 – 1980). The work depicts a large rabbit in black and white with brown around the eyes and inside the ear. The piece is not visibly signed and comes from a collection of the artist’s work from The Worcester Historical Museum. Under a single layer of white mat, the item is presented under glass and housed in a black and silver-tone wood frame.
