Charming late 19th/early 20th century patinated bronze figure of a Tyrolean poulterer, jauntily costumed in feathered cap and ruff, a plump goose tucked beneath each arm in woven baskets. Incised "Lenz" to the base, attributing the work to the Austrian/Viennese school. Raised on a verde antico marble plinth. Rich chocolate patina with natural rubbing to high points revealing warm bronze beneath. Approx. 10.5" tall. Minor chips to marble; felt worn. A spirited genre study.
