Grindley Marlborough Royal Petal Ironstone Tureen c1950s

Elegant mid-century English covered vegetable tureen by W.H. Grindley & Co., Stoke-on-Trent, bearing the green MARLBOROUGH ROYAL PETAL backstamp with crown and shield crest (circa 1950s-60s). Hand-decorated ironstone body with polychrome floral sprays of roses and yellow and blue blossoms, scalloped gilt-edged rim, twin scrolled loop handles, footed base, and charming rose-bud finial. Lid present and well-fitting. Gilt rubbing, light crazing spots and lid speckling; no chips or cracks.
