RARE Listed Artist Signed 1937 Chaim Gross (1902–1991) Original Charcoal Drawing – Acrobats / Figures – Parke-Bernet Provenance

An exceptional, rare original graphite/charcoal drawing on paper by celebrated American Modernist sculptor and artist Chaim Gross (1902–1991). Known for his joyful, dynamic interpretations of the human form, Gross frequently explored acrobatic figures balancing and floating in space.

This piece features his signature fluid line work and expressive shading, capturing two interwoven acrobatic figures in movement. Signed and dated "chaim gross 37" in pencil in the lower right corner.

Provenance & Gallery Labels:
The back of the frame features extraordinary institutional provenance, retaining the original PB 84 / Parke-Bernet Galleries, Inc. (the mid-century subsidiary of Sotheby's) auction purchase receipt dated January 26, 1973, noting the title/subject as "Mother & Child / Acrobats". Additionally, the backing board holds a vintage custom framing label from Van Howe Galleries (226 East 75th Street, New York, NY).
