A solid walnut bed, circa 1860s/1870s. Nice quality, with raised center panel on both head & foot. Original drop-in side rails (not shown) along with cross slats. Headboard/footboard measures 49-1/2" wide x 42" high. Side rails are 71" long.
According to a family note from 1940, the bed was made by a local (Racine WI) man named Gabrielson in approximately 1860. ("a Norwegian cabinet maker"). He made furniture in Milwaukee and for members of his church, the Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Augustana Synod. Of course this note & history will be included with the bed.

We are selling the final contents of a fine collection of primarily English antiques. A beloved collection, and it must go -- The end of an era so to speak. A large percentage of the antiques are nearing their 200th birthday, a few have already reached it, and the vast majority is already past the 150 year mark. Expect a few signs of normal antique wear; condition noted when there are specifics to call out.
