How to Grow Your Instagram Audience

Instagram has a billion active monthly users worldwide. That's a lot of potential growth for your company! Growing your Instagram account organically takes some practice. These six tips below will help you gain new followers and stand out against your competition.

1. Use the right hashtags

Hashtags are what makes Instagram go round. They play a major role in growing your audience. Using the correct hashtags to supplement your posts will help bring in an audience who is already interested in the type of content you're sharing. I've created a guide to help you hashtag your way to success. I also recommend checking out how other brands utilize hashtags to help you gain inspiration and learn the ropes.

2. Post consistently

Instagram rewards consistency, meaning the more regularly you post, the more likely it is that your content will appear in your followers feeds.

3. Share quality photos/videos

It’s all about captivating photos and videos on Instagram. It’s as simple as that. If the photo doesn’t draw the user in, they’ll continue to scroll until they find something that does. You don’t have to be a professional. Just take a few extra moments to stage your items. Keep the photos and videos free of clutter so your followers can easily see what’s going on. Filters aren’t always necessary. In fact, I prefer to adjust the brightness and contrast and leave filters for personal photos.

4. Join the conversation

It’s not enough to simply share photos and videos in your feed and stories. To grow your following you must interact with other accounts by liking and commenting on their posts. Support other estate sale companies in your community and across the nation by typing some encouraging words on some of their posts. Follow industry related and relevant hashtags and join the conversation there as well. Instagram users will see your comments and may decide to check out your profile. It’s a simple way to increase your profile's exposure.

6. Spice up your profile

Your profile will help draw new followers in. When users visit your profile, they should be able to easily tell exactly what your company doesestate sales! Your feed should reflect that. If you’re short on ideas for shareable content, I’ve created a list of 8 content ideas for your company that will encourage engagement and conversations with your followers. Show your love of estate sales through emojis to help spice up the look of your profile. Make your profile standout against the rest!
