Description
Etching of a landscape centering on a waterside house, framed in a period English oak molding. Field was
born, Galesburg, Illinois in 1856, and he studied under Carlus-Duran in Paris from 1880 to 1882. Returning to
America, he lived and worked in New York till his death in 1914. He was a highly regarded member of the
Salmagundi Club and presented in major exhibitions in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Chicago, and
San Francisco.
