This is a very unique item! It is a traditional Chinese Nodder, or “Nodding Chinaman”. It is a porcelain figure that sits 13 inches tall. It has a movable head, tongue, and hands. The figure is sitting cross legged, wearing a flowered and gilt costume. One of the hands has been repaired. These Chinese nodders reputedly were used to detect earthquake activity in the later 19th century. They were very much a high Victorian piece in their time! A fun addition to any home.
Pickup DetailsPick up must be Friday, July 31st between 12-3pm, or Saturday, August 1st between 9am-2pm. Full name of pick up person must be given to guard gate in advance. ID must be shown at the guard gate to get in. You must bring your own moving help, we will not be able to help lift or move any items. We would be happy to help you arrange shipping, however, shipping cost will be paid for by the buyer.
