Opening in 1956 by former FBI agent & WWII veteran Frank Reilly, The Fireplace Restaurant on Rt.17 North in Paramus, NJ, would eventually grow to become the highway’s most iconic building and eatery. It’s big red sign, brick facade, and many wood burning fireplaces welcomed everyone from proms and football celebrations to birthdays and weekly friend hangouts.
